it actually makes some sense your right, because they needed to calm down the public and rumors alittle so by simply updating the firmware and making it brighter and saying its a 5.5gen ipod was a perfect compromise. and then finish the rest just in time for christmas. Plus it is just about time a TRUE next gen ipod came out (im not really counting the 5.5 as a next gen) plus it seems logicall that they wanted to get there other updates, software and products out first to make sure they work and it gets good public responce because id bet anything there somehow all related to the new 6gen ipod hopefully coming out soon.
